Montreal's Professional Sports Teams
Montreal has three professional sports teams and one professional sports team that no longer plays in Montreal but that is still very near and dear to their hearts.

The Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens are Montreal's National Hockey League team. They have been around since 1909. Having won the stanley cup 24 times, they are considered to be one of the most successful sports franchises in professional sports history. The last Stanley cup won by the Canadiens was in 1993. Often referred to as the Habs, Les Glorieux, Le Tricolore and La Sainte-Flanelle, they are part of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the National Hockey League. The habs play all their home games at the Bell Center

The Montreal Alouettes
The Montreal Alouettes are Montreal's Canadian Football League team. They play in the East Division of the Canadian Football League. The Alouettes have brought home several Grey Cups. Their home games are played downtown at the Modlson Stadium, right next to McGill University.

The Montreal Impact
The Montreal Impact are Montreal's ULS soccer team. They paly in the North American United Soccer League (USL) First Division. The team was founded in in 1993 by the Saputo family. Their games used to be played at the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard, but as of the 2008 season the new Saputo Soccer Stadium in the Olympic Park will be used by The Montreal Impact.

The Montreal Expos
The Montreal Expos were Montreal's Major League Baseball team from 1969 until 2004. After the 2004 season, the franchise relocated to Washington, D.C. and became the Washington Nationals. The Nationals retained all the Expos' records, player contracts, and minor league affiliates.
