Montreal's Lachine Area
Lachine is located about 5 minutes from downtown Montreal. It is located on top of Lac Saint Louis. Lachine’s history dates back to the mid-17th century. The city used to be considered a country resort area for Montreal’s rich families.
Today, Lachine contains many historical buildings and boasts some remarkable architecture. The most impressive attraction of Lachine is the Lachine Canal. The Lachine Canal is considered a National Historic site as well as a National Park.
