Montreal's Downtown Area
Downtown Montreal is where all the action takes place in Montreal. Many tourist attractions, shops and restaurtants are located either in downtown or in close proximity to downtown. Various festivals and activities also take place around Montreal's downtown streets. The downtown area sometimes gets so busy that pedestrians move faster than motor vehicles.
Downtown Montreal as an incredible mixture of old and new. You will find some of the oldest buildings in old Montreal and some of Montreal's most modern skyscrapers in Montreal's business district. Most of Montreal's busiest streets are also located in the downtown area.
Montreal’s main tourist street is Sainte-Catherine Street. On Sainte-Catherine street, you will find many stores, cafes, bars, clubs and recreational activities. Many of Montreal’s events also happen to occur on Sainte -Catherine Street.
