Montreal's Place Jacques-Cartier
Not only will you be entertained, you’ll be able to find a wonderful café at Place Jacques-Cartier. This historic square in the heart of Vieux-Montreal is the venue for musicians, magicians and acrobats that entertain summer crowds. Find restaurants lining the square, their patrons taking in the atmosphere while sitting in the open air seating.
The monument at the top of the square was erected in 1809 to honor Lord Nelson’s victory over Napoleon Bonaparte’s French navy. Place Jacques-Cartier is bordered by rues Notre-Dame Est and de la Commune.
