Montreal's Insectarium
Montreal’s unique Insectarium features a collection of more than 350,000 insects in a building designed to resemble an insect.. Since opening in February 1990, the Montreal Insectarium has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors intrigued by bugs and insects.
Located alongside the city's Botanical Gardens, Montreal's Insectarium features a range of popular creepy crawlies, such as tarantula spiders, scorpions, locusts, ants and worms.
You’ll be able to walk through aviaries and living displays in 6 geographically themed areas. The butterfly aviary is a favorite of its visitors, and a children’s amusement center is fun for the family. Call ahead to see if any special events are happening while you’re in the city.
Also of interest is the Insectarium's colorful Butterfly House, which houses many local species from the Quebec area.
