    THE MONTREAL BIOSPHERE

    The Montreal Biosphere
The experience of this museum comes much in part with the building it’s housed in: the largest building of its kind in the world, its structure reproduces more than 75% of a sphere. This museum is dedicated to raising environmental and ecological awareness among its visitors.

Housed in the world's largest geodesic dome, which is one of few remaining structures from Expo '67, it offers 4 levels of exhibits and information. The bottom level examines water as both "Source of Life" and "Source of Delight;" the Connections Hall showcases multimedia presentations focusing on environmental protection; and the Visions Hall affords an incredible 360-degree view of Montreal.

The Biosphere’s purpose is to raise the awareness of young people and their families about major environmental issues, including those related to water and climate change, and the sustainable development of the Great Lakes – St. Lawrence ecosystem.
